Frank Candido

Mr. Candido led the takeover and subsequent implementation of new management and new technical team in 2006 at Golden Hope. Mr. Candido was appointed Director and V-P in October 2007 and then appointed President in August 2009. Mr. Candido is also a principal/partner of Optimus Asset Management Inc., a Montreal-based company that he co-founded in 1994. Optimus specializes in the financing/consulting of private and public early stage and micro cap companies. Mr. Candido is a graduate of Concordia University and McGill University.

 

Roland Boivin
Chief Financial Officer, Montreal, Quebec

Mr. Boivin has spent most his career at 3M Canada Company's (NYSE:MMM) Head Office where he held several management positions, including Business Manager - Consumer Division. In that leadership role, he had overall financial responsibilities for the Canadian market. He was also extensively trained in Six Sigma, becoming a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

His most recent role at 3M as General Manager - Quebec and member of the Company's Executive Committee, involved responsibility for every division, including the Canadian Mining Division.

Mr Boivin obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and his MBA from Queen's University.

 

James E. Tilsley, P.Eng.

James Tilsley whose career experience has spanned the globe has over 45 years experience as a Geologist. Mr. Tilsley has worked on exploration, development and evaluation of mineral deposits and mineral environments in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Indonesia and Greenland. A prolific contributor to industry journals, Mr. Tilsley has an impressive breadth of expertise.

 

Sasha Asgary

Mr. Asgary graduated with Honors from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada and has completed the Canadian Securities Course and Trader Training Course from the Canadian Securities Institute. Mr.Asgary is fully bilingual has been working with Golden Hope MInes since January 2007.

 

Robert J. Stocks

Mr. Stocks is currently employed as Counsel at Fasken Martineau, one of Canada's largest law firms. Fasken was selected as Global Mining Law firm of the year in 2009 for the fifth consecutive year by Who's Who Legal. Who's Who Legal is the Strategic Research Partner for the American Bar Association's Section of International Law.

Mr. Stocks specializes in corporate and commercial law including such areas as acquisitions, amalgamations and mergers, competition issues, trademarks and licensing agreements, foreign investment in Canada, joint ventures as well as all other types of commercial contracts and agreements. Mr. Stocks is a Member of the Québec Bar, the Bar of Montréal and the Canadian Bar Association.

Mr. Stocks currently serves on the Board of Directors of BCB Corporate Services Ltd., Suecia Reinsurance Company, Coor Nuclear Services Inc., CellaVision Canada Inc., Medicis Canada Ltd., Medicis Aesthetics Canada Ltd., and FMSC Food Management Services Chain Inc.

Mr. Stocks has also previously served on the Board of Directors of BC Bearing Engineers Ltd., Agfa Canada Inc., Bridgestone-Firestone Canada Inc., LG Electronics Canada Inc., Hyundai Canada Inc., Hyundai Auto Canada Inc., Yamato Transport Canada Inc., Sunkyong Canada Inc., Trygg Hansa Reinsurance Company, SSAB Swedish Steel Inc., NTI Numerical Technologies Inc., Hultdins Canada Inc., Hanil Bank of Canada, Noss Canada Inc., Quebec Meat Packers (1980) Inc.

Marc A. Drouin

Over a career spanning almost two decades, Marc Drouin has worked primarily in the fields of corporate development and mergers & acquisitions. In his various roles, Mr. Drouin has acted as both principal and advisor across a number of industry sectors and geographies.

Most recently, Mr. Drouin was Head of Group Business Development, Americas, for Anglo American plc, one of the world's largest diversified mining companies. Previously, he was Vice-President, Corporate Development at Alcan Inc.

Prior to joining Alcan, and for more than a decade, Mr. Drouin held investment and merchant banking positions principally related to mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Drouin obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and his MBA at York University.

 

Michael T. Zurowski, P.Eng
Director, Toronto, Ontario

Mr. Michael T. Zurowski, P.Eng., is the Executive Vice President of Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation (TSX:BIM), a company which he co-founded. He has been directly responsible for the detailed evaluation (metallurgy, marketing) of the Mary River iron ore deposits. This has given him an excellent perspective on iron and steel markets with emphasis on the Atlantic Basin.

Immediately prior to joining Baffinland, he was president of the private company, an independent industry consultant and an associate at Watts Griffis and McOuat where he was project manager for the Comprehensive Mineral Development Strategy for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Watts Giffis and McOuat is Canada's longest-running independent firm of Geological and Mining Consultants.

He has more than twenty-five years of experience in the management and evaluation of advanced projects including fifteen years with the Rio Tinto Group (LSE:RIO) (NYSE:RTP), initially based in Canada, then in Africa and Europe with shorter stints in other parts of the world. This role led him to evaluate the potential of the Baffinland Mary River Iron Deposits in the early 1990's as part of a comprehensive evaluation of iron ore deposits in North America.

Prior to Rio Tinto, Michael was Senior Geologist at Kennecott Canada Inc. where his responsibilities included coordinating commodity studies targeting advanced acquisition opportunities, generation and evaluation of new business opportunities, including technical, financial and environmental analysis of target companies and projects, and successful negotiations of joint venture and option agreements.

He is a Professional Engineer having graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A.Sc in Geological Engineering.

 

William C. Needham
Director, New York, New York

Mr. Needham is Managing Director of ALCO, LLC, a corporate advisor to several developing companies. Over the years, Mr. Needham has served as independent director of a number of public and private companies. He has served on both audit and compensation committees.

Mr. Needham spent 12 years at the investment-banking firm of Oppenheimer & Co., where he held numerous positions, including directing functions of the back office, the syndicate department and as a registered broker, managing accounts of institutional and high-net-worth individuals and as a specialist in the firm's corporate leveraged buy-out business.

Mr. Needham holds a BA degree from Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut. Under an AIESEC Fellowship in international banking, he worked in England and Norway with Privatbanken A/S.
